Well...that's a start...

I have posted a few movies in various categories...just the ones that immediately came to mind. Please feel free to comment on any of the selections - what you liked (or didn't like) about a particular movie. And if you have any suggestions as to movies you think I should include on the site, please let me know.

I have discovered that some of the titles are rather difficult to classify as belonging to a specific genre...they are in fact "cross genre". While that sometimes makes them a bit tricky to classify, in a way, that's a part of the beauty of such films - they appeal to a broader audience. "The Princess Bride" is a good example...is it fantasy, adventure, comedy, romance, OR, all of the above? I put it in the Fantasy/Adventure genre due to the basic storyline and setting. BUT, there are some parts of it that are absolutely hilarious.

I know there's alot of movies I've yet to include here...but I think this will be a bit of an ongoing process as others draw my attention to movies that I have yet to see. I look forward to that kind of output.

Welcome to my movie blog !!

I'm sure that I'm not the only one who has had the lamentable experience of shelling out money for a movie that has been recently released in theatres or DVD...only to find out that it's an absolute LOSER. The trailers and the critics reviews mean absolutely nothing, and are often just vehicles for promoting second rate films. So what's a body to do when all you want to do is curl up at the end of a long, hard day and just watch a really GOOD movie.

It has come to my attention that very few people (especially the under 30 crowd) are unfamiliar with some of the better movies that have been produced in the past. That then is the purpose of this blog...to share information on "backlist" films that may have escaped your attention. Similarly, if you've seen a movie that you particularly enjoyed, please let me know so that I can pass the title on to other movie buffs. I love all kinds of movies, so I plan to have all genres represented here, so that there will be always be something for everybody.
